Tablets found a place in our homes because they are so easy to pick up and start surfing the Web with. But with a folio cover attached they become much more useful, especially if that case includes a keyboard. Barnes & Noble just released a Smart Folio Cover with Keyboard for the Nook Tablet 10.1, and with it turns the cheap tablet into a very cheap laptop.
The Nook Tablet 10.1 costs $129.99 and offers an Android tablet complete with an 1900-by-1200 IPS 10.1-inch display, up to 8.5 hours of battery life, and 32GB of on-board storage (expandable via microSD card). It’s clearly good value already, but the folio cover allows you to use the Nook much like you would a laptop while only costing $39.95.
As Good e-Reader reports, the Nook connects to the folio cover using a magnetic clip and requires no pairing. It then sits on your desk just like a laptop with the screen angle adjustable using the stand built into the back of the cover.
While it will never match the functionality or performance a real laptop offers, having access to a keyboard as part of a cover for your tablet makes writing longer emails, product reviews, or a quick Google Doc that much easier and more convenient. And when you’ve finished using the Nook, close the cover to protect the display.
The other Nook accessory worth mentioning is the Charging Dock. Simply attach your existing wall adapter and charging cable into the back of the dock and then slot your Nook into the dock. Again, no pairing is required, the tablet will automatically start charging while also offering a convenient way to watch content without fear of draining the tablet’s battery. At $34.95, the Charing Dock is also very good value.
If either Nook accessory is tempting, there’s a limited-time 20 percent discount available. When purchasing, enter the code STACKED to see the Folio Cover price reduced to $31.96, and the Charging Dock reduced to $27.96.
