PS4 games news: Great news for PlayStation owners as Sony reveal PS1 project update

Written by admin

Sony has revealed some good news for 2019 that a lot of PS4 gamers will want to hear about.

While the current PlayStation console has a great range of exclusive titles to pick from, there are still more on the horizon.

2019 will probably see the release of The Last of Us Part 2 as well as Day Gone, PlayStation’s latest crouch-em ups.

These seem like the last of the major projects from Sony for the PS4, although there are a few others in the works too.

One of those would be MediEvil, a remake that’s being produced as an exclusive for the PS4 games console.

And this new project is about to get some big updates, including a new trailer for fans of the classic games series.

For those that don’t know, MediEvil was a hack ‘n’ slash title for the original PlayStation console.

The adventures of the undead knight Sir Daniel Fortesque proved popular back in 1998, and it appears they could also be big news in 2019.

The first look at the new PS4 games project is being sorted for next week, meaning we’re just days away from a big update.

Shawn Layden, chairman of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios made the announcement earlier this month.

Layden reports that the first trailer will drop on October 31, a pretty fitting date for the new adventure.

He also confirmed the great news that MediEvil on PS4 will be a full remake, not just a remaster of the original title.

It sounds like the game will be very much centered around the original PS1 gameplay, but will come with big improvements for modern gaming.

Speaking on the PlayStation Blogcast, Layden revealed: “This is a remake.

“We’ve taken the original game design, we’ve taken a lot of the key art, and some of the other attributes of the game design and ethos, if you will, and we’re working with a developer called Other Ocean Interactive, and they are remaking MediEvil in that design … the original MediEvil from PS1 … the one that I worked on.”

“We’re working with some of the talent that was originally associated with the title 20 years ago now, so we’re making sure that we’re keeping it real, or keeping it to the original intent of the creators,” Layden explained. “It’s sweet.”

Ocean Interactive are known for their own video games development work, as well as working on high-profile ports for titles such as Minecraft and Super Time Force.

There’s also the chance that fans will get to play the original MediEvil on Sony’s upcoming PlayStation Classic.

There will be a total of 20 games pre-loaded onto the mini device, with plenty of room for titles like MediEvil to fit in.

In other PS4 games news, Sony recently announced the next titles that will be added to the PlayStation Hits line-up.

For those that don’t know, PlayStation Hits are rebranded reprints of popular games that are sold at a discounted price.

And on November 2, five new games will be added to the program, which will be priced at around 15.99.

These games will be available both digitally through PlayStation Store and physically via select retailers across the region.

Below is the full set of games joining PlayStation Hits next month:

  • Until Dawn
  • Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection
  • Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Experience
  • One Piece Pirate Warriors 3
  • Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4

At retailers, PlayStation Hits games will come in red packaging instead of our usual blue, and at PS Store the games will have red banners that’ll make it easy for you to identify which games are part of the Hits lineup.
