If you went to the Michigan Renaissance festival, you may have been exposed to Hepatitis A.
Someone with the disease went to the festival in Holly, Michigan while sick.
Anyone who went to the festival is urged to get a preventative vaccine.
The festival was September 1 through the third and the vaccine needs to be administered within two weeks of potential exposure.
The Grand Traverse County Health Department is offering walk in Hep A vaccinations until Saturday at 1 p.m.
The Grand Traverse County Health Department says that people need to take this risk seriously.
“It is a more serious disease. For some, it can be mild, but during this [statewide] outbreak, it’s been a very high hospitalization rate, 80 percent and 28 deaths,” said health officer Wendy Hirschenberger.
If you were at the festival September 3, you have until Monday to get the vaccine for it to be effective.
